Hi!! I am so happy you stopped by to check out my handmade jewels! My name is Danette and I am the one woman show behind Silver Lace Designs! Each and every piece of Silver Lace is designed, hand-fabricated, and carefully made with love in my home studio. I reside in Idaho Springs, Colorado nestled in at 10,000 feet in the Rocky Mountains. I grew up in a small town west of the Rockies where my love of nature is rooted and often portrayed in my work. I am constantly inspired by the mountains, endless amounts of sunshine, wildflowers, and fresh air that I get to experience daily. I currently just ventured into this business full time, making myself the true boss lady!

I found my voice in metal two years ago. I have always been an artist, my past time favorite medium was oil painting. I have always been artistically a jack of all trades and nothing really stuck. That was until I took my first metalsmithing class. I instantly knew this was my calling. For so long I searched for something that challenged me. As with anything, it takes time and LOTS of patience and practice. There are days when lots of patience have gone out the window and a few cuss words thrown in the mix and I feel like giving up. My longing to be better always prevails though. I have been known to start something and give it up, either because it was too easy, not challenging me, and moving on to the next hobby. Not with metal and stone. It is constantly inspiring me to do and be better. The jewelry I create speaks straight from my heart. Resembling this beautiful EARTH. Built with these two hands, made to last a lifetime. I hope a piece speaks to your soul.

My husband, Vincent, and I just recently bought our first home together! A little blue house nestled in the mountains with miles of forest behind us. It has been an exciting new change! We have been in complete bliss as this house is everything we have ever wanted. This home is my muse, constantly inspiring me. It took a lot of hard work for us to get to this point. All good things come when you work hard and constantly chase after your goals and dreams. You can find us enjoying every second of these mountains we now call home. You can also find us hiking with our three dogs, finding a new hot springs to soak in, sipping a beer at a local brewery, or catching a Rockies game.

I hope you'll follow along my metalsmithing journey! I will be creating magic in a small cabin in the woods. From my heart to yours.

I ventured into metalsmithing because I am happiest when I am creating, and that goes for any medium. I love working with my hands. I started Silver Lace Designs two years ago. I named my business after my Great Grandma Rhoana's passion for giving. You could always find her baking cookies from the recipes in her head, sewing quilts, or crocheting hats, blankets, and doilies. She was one of the most selfless, loving and giving people I've had the pleasure of knowing. She created things straight from her heart. She made timeless, quality treasures with her hands and gifted them to anyone and everyone. I pour my heart and soul into my jewelry and this business because it's my passion. I want my jewelry to last, be loved, and passed down to future generations just as my grandma's creations were. My little (or big) versions of lace and love brought to you in silver and stone.
